A website request: how long the dates are held
A guest booking on your site holds the dates immediately - but not for ever. The calendar goes back on sale by itself if nobody confirms.

How to do it
- 1A request holds the dates for 30 minutes, until the guest confirms their address by clicking the link in their email.
- 2After that click the hold extends to 48 hours - your time to confirm by hand. You set that number under Property.
- 3Your confirmation, or the guest's payment, clears the deadline entirely: from then on it is an ordinary booking.
- 4Zero hours under Property switches expiry off, and every hold then waits for your decision.
What catches people out
The same link that extends the hold is the proof the address belongs to the sender - and only after it does the returning-guest discount apply. Typing somebody else's address does not buy their discount.
