The things nobody closed
The front desk opens with a queue called Loose ends: stays from the past still waiting for a decision. A day with no arrivals and no departures is not a day with nothing to do.
In the panel: Front desk
How to do it
- 1"Not checked out" - the guest is still checked in although the departure date has passed. Three honest endings: they really left (check them out), they stayed longer (change the dates), or the status was wrong.
- 2"Never arrived" - the arrival was yesterday or earlier and nobody checked them in. Either a no-show or a late arrival nobody recorded; the room stays blocked the whole time.
- 3"Left owing money" - the stay ended, the balance did not. The amount sits beside the name.
- 4An overdue check-out gets its button in the row; the rest lead into the stay itself.
What catches people out
The queue deliberately reaches backwards, not only at today. A stay still checked in with a departure date from last week used to fall out of both "in house" and "leaving" - it was in the system and nowhere on the screen.
